and support Oke's mahi!

Since 2016, we’ve built 70 outdoor classrooms across Auckland, Waikato, Northland, and Otago, supporting over 30,000 students to access hands-on outdoor education. Every year, tamariki grow more than 10,000kg of produce per year in these spaces, while also learning STEM, cultural knowledge, hauora, and food resilience.

Oke Charity is a small, passionate team of three making a mighty impact, proudly rooted in South Auckland, powered by community, and committed to equity in education. We’re not growing food, we’re growing capability, confidence, and learning and you can be a part of that.

There are so many different ways to support Oke –  from partnerships to fundraising, to coming along to one of our events, we keep this page updated so you can see what we’re up to, and how you can join in.

“Thanks to every school, volunteer, partner, and cheerleader who’s keeping the Oke kaupapa alive. Growing Mighty Kids isn’t just a slogan, it’s the reason we keep pushing forward.” – Paul Dickson, Executive Go-Getter and Founder of Oke

Oke's 10th Birthday

On Saturday 14 February 2026, we’re throwing a proper birthday bash at Papatoetoe East School, right where Oke first got started. Expect kids everywhere, food and drinks, games and activities, a bit of noise, a bit of mess, and a whole lot of smiles. This is our chance to celebrate ten years of outdoor classrooms, community working bees, muddy hands, big laughs, and kids learning in ways that actually work for them. No long speeches. No fancy stuff. Just a good old-fashioned Oke celebration with the people who helped make it happen and a chance to look ahead to the next ten years of growing mighty kids.

If you’ve ever picked up a spade, backed us, partnered with us, volunteered, donated, cheered from the sidelines, or been part of the Oke story in any way, this one’s for you. Come along, bring your people, and help us celebrate 10 years of Oke.
